Pneumonia

LOW BLOOD OXYGEN – CARRYING CAPACITY:   Natural vitamin C complex containing concentrates of the enzyme tyrosinase, the organic copper vitamin, has the remarkable capacity of maintaining the red-cell oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood:  a deficiency may result in the loss of half this oxygen-carrying capacity.

This may cause the heart to become overloaded in its work of maintaining a proper supply of oxygen to the tissues.  It is called upon to pump many more gallons of blood per hour than it would were the normal content of oxygen carried; this alone may account for many of the accelerated pulse rates encountered by the doctor.

It is obvious that no matter what particular form of cardiac involvement is present, where natural vitamin C deficiency is placing an added burden on this long-suffering organ, its administration will bring immediate relief to the patient; often the distressed breathing is gone in 15 – 20 minutes (in 3 or 4 tablet dosage).

For this reason, it is probably the most important of all the vitamin factors to be supplied to the heart patient.

In addition to low dietary intake of the natural vitamin C complex, it is opportune to recall here that any infective process, local or general, destroys the vitamin C reserves through its action of neutralizing bacterial enzymes, and depleting the adrenals, which use large amounts of this vitamin.  ) Natural vitamin C complex might be termed “ammunition for the phagocyte gun fighter”.)

Since natural vitamin C complex maintains the oxygen-carrying power of the blood at such a high level, its depletion due to acute infections and fevers (such as pneumonia) may result in tachycardia, which usually is promptly relieved by the ingestion of this complex.  The richest natural food sources of this enzyme tyrosinase are raw potato juice and raw mushrooms, not commonly eaten in the average diet.

It should be noted here that no patient will die of an infectious disease until his reserves of vitamin C have been exhausted!  The vitamin C deficiency would be the real cause of death – not the infection!

Therefore, tachycardia appearing with infection may indicate diminishing reserves of the natural vitamin C complex!

It may be well to outline here the reasons for the use of the natural vitamin C complex containing the enzyme tyrosinase instead of ascorbic acid, which is usually identified as vitamin C itself.

Current propaganda on ascerola berries, rose hips, and citrus sources of this vitamin are all evaluated from their content of ascorbic acid.In 1933, vitamin C was identified by Dr. McCollum of Johns Hopkins University as the enzyme tyrosinase.

Ascorbic acid, which will not cure scurvy by itself (see page 8 of the “Folio of Product Literature”, the statement by Szent-Gyorgyi, the discoverer of Vitamin C) but appears to be a valuable anti-oxidant that prevents the real factors from being destroyed.

Ascorbic Acid in large unit dosages appears to assert its effect, not as a vitamin, but as an acid.  Since many patients are over alkaline, these large doses would acidify them.

Along with this. It is highly suggested that you do a Google search regarding the relationship between people with pneumonia and low Vitamin C. Please submit testimonials regarding your experiences with pneumonia and vitamin C.
